He was known to some musicians at the time, for such
records like Run For Cover and Good Times, but had been a longtime artist in jazz — a period that included work with Riggs Moore, Darryl Glenn and Jim Jones that formed some of his most widely recognized records. Mr Taylor was widely admired for creating complex melodescedra, jazz standards for all audiences, and works within a wide spectrum of genres including jazz pop, funk and hip hop to name and many other styles. One of his key compositional efforts was Tug, performed regularly on the CBS New Day during 1964 by Frank Iheart Jr.'d Orchestra [1893. -1960. A favorite, "Wandering Spirit," recorded in New York on October 23, 1966 - but on some recordings had actually been out on tour for six or eight months beforehand. The concert was broadcast on The World with Waleh Zbiray's Show and another album from the orchestra came shortly thereafter [1968].
